Sidrassi-Tom v3 Finished

Sidrassi Tom Guts

So I’ve been working with what I call the Sidrassi-Tom for just over two years now. It’s gone through several revisions over the years including how the electronics/contactmics are setup, to switching a new drum, to most recently incorporating a whole new circuit and speakers.

I ran into several snags along the way, but in the end I’m very happy with the build.

The v3 of the Sidrassi-Tom also has the beginnings of an epic WTPA (8-bit sampler/looper) and Arduino-based gesture/trigger controlled that will be able to do live sampling/granulizing/etc.. all without a laptop…

By beginnings I mean I’ve incorporated the hardware side of this next project into the drum in the form of a foam drum trigger (as viewable in the pictures below).
